Return Policy
for RJ Custom Shop Guitars

At RJ Guitars, each RJ Custom Shop instrument is handcrafted with care, precision, and pride. We are committed to delivering high-performance guitars that meet the expectations of discerning players around the world. The following policy outlines how we handle returns, defects, and shipping—fairly and transparently.

1. Pre-Configured Models

(Standard RJ Custom Shop models built to our specifications but not custom-ordered)

  • Return Window: You may return a pre-configured RJ Custom Shop guitar within 7 days of delivery, provided:

    • The guitar is in new condition with no signs of use, wear, or modification.

    • All original packaging, certificates, tools, and accessories are included.

  • Restocking Fee:

    • 15% if returned unopened in factory-sealed condition.

    • 25% if opened but unused, as determined upon inspection.

  • Return Shipping: The customer is responsible for insured return shipping with tracking and appropriate declared value. All returns must be authorized by RJ Guitars before shipping.

  • Inspection Notice: All returned items are professionally inspected. If the instrument shows signs of use, damage, or missing components, the return may be refused or subject to further deductions.

  • Damage Claims: Shipping damage must be reported within 48 hours of delivery with clear photo documentation of both the packaging and the guitar.

  • Manufacturing Defects: If a factory defect is suspected, it must be reported within 7 days of delivery along with supporting photo/video documentation.

A manufacturing defect is defined as a flaw in workmanship or materials that prevents the guitar from functioning as intended. This does not include setup-related adjustments (e.g., truss rod, action, fret buzz), minor cosmetic imperfections, or natural wood and finish variations.

RJ Guitars will evaluate the issue and determine, at our sole discretion, if it qualifies as a manufacturing defect.

In most cases, we will first assist the customer remotely with setup advice or adjustments. If the issue cannot be resolved through these methods, we may:

    • Approve a reimbursement for local repair, or

    • Arrange return shipping at our cost, or

    • Offer a replacement or full refund, depending on the situation.

  • These resolutions are handled case-by-case with the goal of balancing fairness and customer satisfaction.

2. Custom Orders

(Guitars built to customer-selected specifications: wood, finish, neck profile, pickups, hardware, etc.)

  • Final Sale: Custom-built RJ Custom Shop guitars are non-cancelable, non-returnable, and non-refundable, except in the rare case of a confirmed manufacturing defect.

  • Production Lock-In: Once production begins, no changes, cancellations, or refunds will be accepted.

  • Manufacturing Defects: Any suspected defect must be reported within 7 days of delivery, with supporting documentation.

As with pre-configured models, RJ Guitars will determine at our sole discretion whether the issue qualifies as a manufacturing defect.

We may first guide you through adjustments remotely. If the problem is verified and cannot be resolved, we will propose a suitable resolution—including local repair reimbursement, return shipping, or replacement—on a case-by-case basis.

Customer Assurance

Every RJ Custom Shop guitar is thoroughly inspected and tested before it leaves our workshop. We understand the challenges of buying a high-end instrument online, and we’re here to ensure that serious issues are handled promptly and professionally. That said, we kindly ask for your cooperation with basic adjustments, as is common with all boutique instruments shipped internationally.
